Luck hunters are those who survived during wars and conflicts and, since then, have been filled with a very peculiar philosophy, placing not gods or spirits as their patron, but simple luck. Assassins, former spies, smugglers, bandits, thieves and renegades of all stripes. There are a great many of these in the world of the Mainland. These include the main character - Carnage, nicknamed Phoenix, a half-breed without a drop of human blood, a tramp whose trade is to obtain rare artifacts and reagents to order in a world that has gone crazy on magic. But everyone in life has their own “dragon” and, sooner or later, the time comes to choose: to challenge fate or to vegetate in the gray everyday life until the grave, resigning itself and writing off losses. Carnage turned out to be no timid person, especially since his unenviable lot was reminiscent of lines from an old song: “What is life? Just a duel with death!'
