Томас Бернгард майстерно передає складні емоції та внутрішні переживання свого героя, Франца-Йозефа Мурау, який, повертаючись до родинного маєтку, змушений зіткнутися з власними страхами, спогадами та спадщиною, яка тисне на нього. Стиль написання Бернгарда зачаровує: його фрази звучать як музика, а глибокі філософські роздуми про життя, смерть і родинні зв'язки змушують задуматися про сенс існування. Ця книга - не лише про вимирання фізичне, а й про вимирання ідей, цінностей та людських стосунків. Я б рекомендував "Вимирання" всім, хто цінує глибокі, інтелектуальні твори, які залишають по собі слід. Це справжнє мистецтво, яке варто прочитати!
