Autumn 1921. A large gang led by Konstantin Lenkov is active in Chita. The head of the criminal investigation department, Fomenko, and his closest assistants, Boytsov and Batashev, are making every possible effort to eliminate the criminals. But the bandits have their eyes and ears everywhere - in the authorities, in the police. Attempts to introduce criminal intelligence officers into the gang end tragically.
