In December 1825, in St. Petersburg, the capital of the Russian Empire, there was an uprising of conspirators who would later be called the Decembrists. The rebellion was suppressed, but, as is known, “the Decembrists woke up Herzen,” and he “launched revolutionary agitation,” which had very significant consequences - both for our country and for the whole world as a whole... Suffice it to say that Herzen’s baton after some time the time was taken up by such serious and responsible comrades as Lenin and Stalin. But who woke up the Decembrists themselves, and why were they so eager to make everyone happy - even at the cost of their lives? What could they really bring to Russia? What motives motivated them, what kind of people were they? Victims or hostages of circumstances? An unusual look at the problem of the Decembrists is offered by Oleg Mazurin in his alternative historical novel. The text is to a certain extent provocative, but reads in one breath... We have never known the Decembrists like this. We haven't heard about this yet.
