For a whole year now, peace has reigned in the Kingdom of the Islands. But two empires - Midkemia and Kelevan - are again threatened by a mysterious Enemy. According to an ancient prophecy, Good will fall and Evil will reign in the world when the Lord of the West, Prince Arutha, dies. The dark elves and their allies - the morells and snake people - begin the hunt for the prince.
