Maryana Romanova's prose is deep, melodic and sensual. The novel “The Sun on Your Sleeve” is a psychological investigation. With Freudian meticulousness, the author tries to understand the psychology of nonentity. Why don't some people dare to want more? The main character, an adult and intelligent city dweller, feels unhappy and lost. She is pregnant, but does not want children at all. She married twice to men who did not love her. She is thirty-four, but she is still afraid of her grandmother. But she is childishly in love with her mother, who is hysterical and selfish. She lives as if by inertia and as if someone else's life. Until she finally meets a person who helps her understand why all this is happening to her. This book is not about love. There is no happy ending in it. But, having prepared a concentrate of bitterness, the author still leaves an aftertaste of the sun.
