The problem of global security became especially acute after the Cuban Missile Crisis, during which the threat of global nuclear war was more real than ever. But in 1963, the two superpowers began to gradually move away from a “position of strength” relationship policy. At some point, it might have seemed that positive trends were emerging in relations between the Soviet Union and the United States. However, already in 1964, the United States launched a direct military intervention in Vietnam, which immediately led to increased international tension. The publication of this book is especially relevant in connection with the events in Ukraine and Syria. There are a number of historical parallels that the reader will be able to see. This is the division of the country into two parts, the creation of a completely controlled puppet regime, financing, arms supplies, military advisers, information warfare and much more.
