Gianni Versace began his career at twenty-five, only to become a world-famous couturier a few years later, whose name turned into a brand. He staged shows at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, where Coco Chanel's shows once took place. Gianni Versace was adored by the press; his clothes were worn by A-list stars, from Madonna to Princess Diana. He had a collection dedicated to Jacqueline Kennedy. Bright, incredibly sexy and provocative, bordering on kitsch, his clothes immediately turned a person into a star. Versace brought into fashion the combination of black leather and gold accessories, bright prints on shirts, leather pants and much more. One of the greatest couturiers of the 20th century, Gianni Versace, passed away in the summer of 1997 under tragic circumstances. A brilliant artist, a talented businessman, he left behind him the third most powerful empire in the world, which is destined to influence aesthetics and fashion trends in the 21st century.
