The main character goes to Berlin to organize the escape of a Soviet scientist named Semitsa through the mediation of Johnny Valkan from the Berlin intelligence community. Despite the protagonist's skepticism, the deal appears to have been supported by Russian security chief Colonel Stock and Hallam. An Israeli intelligence agent named Samantha Steele is also involved in this case. It soon becomes apparent that behind the facade of a carefully planned operation lies a game of deadly maneuvers and ruthless tactics.
