“Pythagorean Golden Verses” is a unique source that has come to us through many centuries, which contains the teachings of the Pythagorean school in its original purity. “Golden Verses” is a set of commandments from the times of ancient Pythagoreanism. In a capacious symbolic form, they set out the foundations of the correct way of life and the path to divine wisdom. Of great interest is the “Commentary on the Pythagorean Golden Verses” by the Neoplatonist Hierocles (beginning of the 5th century AD). Hierocles, the founder of Alexandrian Neoplatonism, reveals the content of the “Golden Verses” from the standpoint of eclectic philosophy in line with Neoplatonic and Pythagorean teachings.
