Two historians are examining a unique find - an ancient Tibetan manuscript inscribed on a stone plate. Attempts to decipher the text lead not only to the discovery of one of the greatest secrets of humanity, but also to a clash with the ancient sect that owns the “Ball” - an artifact of a lost civilization that preceded us humans on Earth. This sect is alive to this day and, thanks to the Shar, is capable of committing both horrific crimes and great good deeds - it all depends on in what hands the Shar ends up.

The action of the novel takes place in our familiar and ordinary world , sometimes acquiring a detective character, and in ancient Tibet - where the novel takes on the features of a Buddhist parable.
