In 1959, the first book of memoirs of the honored commander of the civil war S.M. was published. Budyonny. In his new book, he seems to continue an intimate conversation with the reader. But at the same time, it is a completely finished, independent work. It is dedicated to the events of the struggle against the White Poles in 1920. The second book tells about the heroic thousand-mile march of the Cavalry from the North Caucasus to the Dnieper, about its battles against the invaders near Zhitomir, Berdichev, Novograd-Volynsky, Rovno, Lvov, on the Styr River and near Zamosc.
In his third book, “The Path Traveled,” the famous commander of the civil war, three times Hero of the Soviet Union, member of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Marshal of the Soviet Union Semyon Mikhailovich Budyonny talks about the heroic actions of the 1st Cavalry Army on the Southern Front during the defeat Wrangel in the fall of 1920, about the fight against Makhno’s anti-Soviet Andes in Ukraine, about the liquidation of the counter-revolutionary conspiracy of Prince Ukhtomsky in the Don and the North Caucasus, about the participation of cavalrymen in battles with the Basmachi in Central Asia. Many pages of the book are devoted to the period of S.M. Budyonny as a member of the Revolutionary Military Council of the USSR, they talk about his meetings with the leaders of the party and government. The previous two books were published by the Military Publishing House in 1959 and 1965.
