The hero of Vasily Berezhny’s story “Such a Long Journey of Chamkhaba” (Taka Dalek Podorozh Chamkhaba, 1975) is the captain of a spaceship, who is the only one left alive after visiting a distant planet. And most importantly, he doesn’t remember how he escaped. Already on Earth, in order to finally solve this mystery for himself and those around him, he, on the advice of his beloved girlfriend Angela, took a course of mnemoscopy - a full brain scan. The mystery was never solved (at the moment of his rescue his brain seemed to be turned off), but for Angela it was all over. Chamhab completely forgot some of his memories and one of them was about her.
