The book is dedicated to two cruisers of the Russian fleet: “Dmitry Donskoy” and “Vladimir Monomakh” - ships that at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries passed through all the oceans and died in May 1905 in the Sea of Japan. Construction and commissioning The composition of the Russian fleet of semi-armored frigates “Vladimir Monomakh” and “Dmitry Donskoy” marked an important stage in Russian shipbuilding - the transition to the creation of a series of ships for cruising purposes. These ships were well built in Russian shipyards, represented an independent domestic design type and received the glorious names of great princes famous in Russian history.
