The most prominent nuclear physicist David King from Vasily Berezhny’s story “Young Brother of the Sun” (Young Brother Sontsya, 1975), works for the military of the South African Republic to create a new type of weapon - an annihilation bomb. He is achieving some success, he already has millions of dollars in his bank account, and no one, not even his wife, knows that he is pursuing two goals. Firstly, his “pyramids” are the first step towards his plan, and secondly, he is trying with all his might to prevent the practical use of his weapons. When, under the pressure of public opinion (David himself discovered the secret of the weapon), UN troops landed on the island, one point of his plans was fulfilled. And three years later, his second plan came true - he turned Jupiter into... a supernova! Now the Earth will receive huge portions of energy, but King himself will die.
