What is sacrifice? Vice or virtue? It is customary to equate it with one of the characteristic features that distinguishes a person from a simple animal. But do people really so often sacrifice themselves, their own aspirations and principles, or, on the contrary, sacrifice others for the sake of preserving themselves, their principles and aspirations? In a world where war has broken out, where everyone dreams of survival, self-sacrifice is just a stupid whim, devoid of meaning. The young renegade Rennet thinks so.
