Alex Garland's new novel is the third after The Beach, which made him famous and the success of Tesseract, not counting the script for Danny Boyle's film 28 Days Later (Boyle, the director of the film version of the famous Irvine Welsh's Trainspotting, also filmed " Beach”) The hero of “Coma” wakes up in the hospital. Having stood up for a girl on the subway, he was beaten by hooligans until he lost consciousness—and, as it turns out, memory. He doesn't remember his name. Doesn't remember what his job is. I'm not sure what kind of relationship he has with his secretary. He is firmly convinced of one thing: the key to the solution is in his briefcase, which mysteriously disappeared from the crime scene. The novel is illustrated with engravings of Garland's father, Nicholas Garland, a prominent English cartoonist and graphic artist.
