The book by the famous Finnish theologian M. Ruokanen examines such an important issue for religion as divine inspiration. Since ancient times, it was believed that prophets were a kind of “mouthpiece” of God, just as the authors of sacred texts only wrote down what was dictated to them from above. The modern Lutheran theologian traces the development of the idea of divine inspiration from the early Christian church to the period of the Reformation and further to the present day, paying special attention to the interpretation of this issue by M. Luther. The book is a scientific publication intended for scientists interested in issues of spirituality.
