The book by A. Nune is written based on an authentic diary that the author kept when she worked in one of the hospices in East Berlin in the 2010s. Having settled into her new job, she discovers that she can establish trusting relationships with terminally ill patients, seemingly infinitely distant from her. She strives to help the dying and learns every day to live in the presence of death. The patients die one after another, but the difficult experience of empathy helps the heroine to better know herself and people in general.A. Nune (Nune Barseghyan) was born in 1963 in Armenia. Graduated from the Faculty of Psychology of Moscow State University. Since 1993 he has lived in Berlin. She worked as a psychologist in a private psychiatric clinic and in various social institutions. Author of the novel “After the Comma” (M.: New Literary Review, 2001, shortlist for the Andrei Bely Prize).
