In the mid-80s, construction of a huge nitrogen fertilizer plant began in the Far East. Next to it, it was planned to build the city of Bonivur, in which builders and factory workers would live. It so happened that the last city of the USSR, and even the enterprise, of which it was supposed to become a satellite, were not completed. They sank into oblivion along with the Soviet Union and were almost erased from people’s memory, if not for the Khabarovsk traveler and blogger, member of the Russian Geographical Society, Alexander Leonkin. Having accidentally learned about the disappeared city, he undertook four local history expeditions to Bonivur, found the people who built the city and lived in it, unearthed a lot of rare personal and archival documents. All this became the basis for writing the book that you are holding in your hands. Books about work, enthusiasm and the very last city of the USSR.
