The "Miami Agreement" is the oldest document in American history, according to which, on board the ship "Mayflower" on November 11, 1620, the immigrants who created the Pilgrim settlement in Plymouth undertook to live in accordance with the accepted rules and standards. According to the "Miami Agreement", each participant promised to listen to and submit to the general will for the good of the community, as well as direct all their actions to the benefit of the general welfare. This document reflects the desire to create self-government and democracy among the first settlers of New England, becoming an important step in the formation of the foundation of the American state.
