"The Yellow Wallpaper" (Ukrainian name: "Жовтый тарпели") is a poignant novel by the American writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman. The main character of the work is forced to stay in a separate room with yellow wallpaper under the supervision of a male doctor. Gradually, she begins to observe strange and frightening images on the wallpaper, which cause her constant fear and paranoia. Through this story, Gilman touches on the topic of women's mental health, patriarchal subjugation and social restrictions. The work is a deep analysis of the inner city and the struggle for personal will, which the main character leads under the pressure of society and the system. Due to the expressive style of writing and the use of mysterious symbols, "The Yellow Wallpaper" leaves the reader under the impression and makes one think about the complex essence of the inner world of man and his struggle for self-expression.
