The textbook covers the subjects of the program for students of the first year of study at the Faculty of Philology, majoring in "Chinese language and literature and translation". Structurally, the textbook consists of an introductory part, which provides a detailed description of the phonetic system of the Chinese language, and 20 lesson topics, each of which is presented with a text part, a dictionary to the text, a grammatical, lexical, phonetic and cultural comment, as well as lexical and grammatical exercises for consolidation passed material. The original educational material of the lessons is supplemented by an explanation of the keys to the studied hieroglyphs, an illustration and detailed information on the etymology of some of the hieroglyphs. Better memorization of hieroglyphs is ensured by the prescriptions at the end of each lesson.The textbook is designed for students of Chinese studies majors, as well as those who are interested in the Chinese language and want to master it on their own.
