The book "Lysistrata" by the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes is one of the most famous comedies of antiquity. The main character, Lysistrata, unites the women of Athens in an effort to stop the war between Athens and the Spartans. She came to the conclusion that the only way to peace is to refuse to support her husbands in the war until they make peace. Lysistrata, together with other women, devises a plan to block the acropolis and refuse intimate relations with men. The comedy reflects the socio-political realities of its time and at the same time makes fun of the war, the quarrels of politicians and historical events. With its lively action, deep humor and satirical aspects, "Lysistrata" remains relevant today, reminding us of the importance of peace and unity.
