"A Vindication of the Royal Party (1659); and A Panegyric for Charles the Second (1661)" are two creative poems written by the English writer and activist John Evelyn. In his works, the author defends the right of royal power and glorifies Charles the Second. "Justification of the royal party" is an appeal to the arguments made in support of the monarchy and traditional royal power. In "Eulogy to Charles the Second", the author glorifies the ruler as a worthy and strong leader. Because of the high level of language and deep analysis of the events of his time, the works of John Evelyn have become a valuable source for the study of the history and political thought of Britain in the middle of the seventeenth century.
