"A Relíquia" is a novel by the outstanding Portuguese writer Eshi de Queiroz, known in the Ukrainian translation as "The Shrine". This is a work that combines social criticism, humor and philosophical reflections. The main character, Teodoro, the heir of an ancient family, decides to make a pilgrimage to the holy Jerusalem in order to find his "relic" - a family artifact, which he considers the key to happiness. However, the journey becomes not only a physical test for him, but also an internal crisis that helps him reconsider his values and beliefs. In the novel, the author studies the psychology of the hero, his relationship to the changing values of society and religious ideas. "Shrine" is not only an exciting story about searches and self-discovery, but also a deep philosophical and literary embodiment of a person's spiritual searches.
