Arthur Kronfeld is a renowned psychiatrist and founder of the pioneering Institute for Sex Research in Berlin at the beginning of the last century. It was the world's first center for sexological science and practice, which treated thousands of patients suffering from all kinds of “perversions” and “types of personality degeneration.” The founder of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, respected Kronfeld as an equal. In 1936, being a Jew, Kronfeld managed to escape from Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union, where he became one of the few doctors close to the Kremlin. In 1939, his work “Degenerates in Power” was first published , in which he accused Nazi leaders of engaging in sexual perversion. Rich in names and details, the pamphlet began with sensational evidence of Hitler's homosexuality. The secret brochure was published for official use by the Central Committee of the RCP(b) in a circulation of only 50 copies. This publication is supplemented by a detailed foreword by the Russian historian and psychologist, professor at the Central European University in Vienna, Alexander Etkind, and comments by the Italian psychologist and historian, professor of psychology at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” by Luciano Mecacci.
