Almost his entire life, starting from the age of sixteen, thief in law Samson spent behind barbed wire. Having been jailed for petty theft, he never managed to break with the “zone.” Moreover, brought up on the thieves' romance of the 60s, he stupidly followed criminal laws, slowly but surely climbing the hierarchical ladder of the criminal world. The culmination of his “career” was his initiation into a “thief in law.” However, after many years, he suddenly began to understand that thieves’ ideas were by no means an idol worth worshiping. And then he took up his pen, trying to tell in detail and honestly about his worthless life and explain to his son why he disposed of his fate so absurdly. He repented, renounced thieves' concepts and morals, hoping to spend the last years of his life with his family. But the only woman in his life, the mother of his child, died without ever having a calm family life. Samson hoped to at least protect his son from the terrible mistakes he himself had made, but Yaroslav died on the operating table, having been mortally wounded in a gang war. Alone, with an empty soul and a broken heart, Samson died in a prison cell. His last thought was: “I really don’t want to die here, on the bunk...” All that was left of him was this diary...
