Автор майстерно поєднує елементи трилера, наукової фантастики та соціальної драми, змушуючи читача задуматися над моральними аспектами винаходів, які можуть змінити світ. Історія професора, який намагається спокутувати свою провину перед в'єтнамським народом, наповнена напругою та несподіваними поворотами.
