P. Sergeich is the pseudonym of the famous Russian lawyer Pyotr Sergeevich Porokhovshchikhov. The author of this book, informative, rich in observations and examples, reflects on the purity and accuracy of style, simplicity of speech, the “flowers of eloquence,” rhetorical turns, and the search for truth. It was first published in 1910; the re-release in 1960 was a great success. Many of the author’s recommendations on the methodology of constructing a judicial speech are still useful today.
