The image of a man is a rigid construction of his actions. The image of a woman is a patchwork quilt of her desires. One of the favorite sayings of the fair sex is: “A man is the head, and a woman is the neck.” Wherever he wants, he will turn his head.” With purely feminine superficiality, the obvious physiological fact is ignored here: it is the head that gives commands to the neck, as well as to other parts of the body. The image of a woman is formed not so much by her personal desires as by men’s desires, which she wants to please. And the love of a man, which a woman so persistently seeks, is directed not so much to herself, but to his own desire to possess her. This desire can be quite understandable, and monstrously incomprehensible, and normal, and pathological, and beneficial, and destructive, but in any case, that’s it. it is desire that drives a man, not his object. It is this desire that is the ignition fuse leading to the powder keg of male actions. The book is not recommended for reading by people with weak nerves, lack of a sense of humor, or those planning to get married.
