Boxer and pianist Henry Morgan lives in an unusual apartment on Hurnsgatan street in Stockholm. His brother Leo, a former child prodigy, philosopher and poet from the sixties, now a degenerate type, also lives with him. Many strange events occur in the house. The Morgan brothers are truly mysterious characters. At least according to the writer "Klas Östergren", who appears in an amazing apartment in the summer of 1978, after all but two typewriters have been stolen from him. Having settled in one of the rooms of the Morgan brothers' apartment, he finds himself drawn into a heartbreaking drama. The reader witnesses the various adventures of the Morgan brothers in Stockholm and other European capitals, until the hour of the decisive test comes in the gloomy Swedish winter of 1979. The talent of the storyteller and the intricacies of intrigue lead to the finale , in which the narrator himself tries to understand what really happened to the characters. But the ending is not the ending - the plot of the novel “Gangsters”, written twenty-five years later, begins where the story of “The Gentlemen” ends.
