“What would have happened if Stalin had died a week later?..” - this was not a rhetorical question asked by the writer Valentin Erashov in his book “Corridors of Death,” the genre of which he himself defines as “historical fantasy.” Let us note, however, that the terrible events, the sequence of which is traced in the story day after day, are not so phantasmagorical: behind them are historical realities, confirmed by the testimony of contemporaries and documents.
