Among the poets of the Silver Age there are forgotten ones almost deliberately. Such a poet was Solomon Venyaminovich Kopelman, who in his first publication (1915) chose the pseudonym “S. Bart". Barth's first collection—the only one published in Russia—is known in only one copy. Later, Bart settled in exile, in a country unfavorable for Russian poetry - Poland. Four more of his books were published in Berlin and Warsaw. In 1941, the poet died in the Warsaw ghetto. More than half a century had to pass before the first collection of Barth's poems was published at Stanford University. The book became a bibliographic rarity, and facts and materials continued to accumulate. The publication offered to the reader contains everything that gives the right to consider Solomon Barth one of the most significant Russian poets in Eastern Europe.
