“The Funny Bible” is a book by Leo Taxil that ridicules the text of the Old Testament, asking questions about the lack of logical connections between individual statements. It was first published in June 1897, shortly after the scandalous revelation of the Taxil hoax at a meeting of the Paris Geographical Society. Leo Taxil himself wrote about the “Funny Bible”: “The Funny Bible” will not contribute to “strengthening religion,” but, on the contrary, will explain to readers, “ what and why you shouldn’t believe.”
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
