Nikolai Alekseevich Osokin (1843–1895) is a famous Russian historian, professor at Kazan University. His work “History of the Middle Ages” (1888) is read with great interest and is distinguished by a lively, fascinating presentation. On the pages of the book we see a whole series of historiographers who have preserved for us the world of a distant era, which not only united antiquity and modern times, but also gave rise to the Renaissance and modern civilization.
