The book “Veterinary Parasitology” is a translation of the second edition of the textbook “Veterinary Parasitology”, published in 1996 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Glasgow (Scotland). The book consists of four main sections: “Helminthology”, “Entomology”, “Protozoology” and “Issues of general parasitology”. In the first three sections, in strict accordance with taxonomy , the morphology and biology of parasites, their veterinary significance, the diseases they cause in farm and domestic animals are considered. Modern information on the epizootology of parasites in the world, including in Russia, on issues of pathogenesis, immunity and immunization (vaccination) of animals, diagnostics, treatment using the latest drugs, schemes of control and prevention (control) measures are given, taking into account the natural and climatic characteristics of individual countries and regions. The fourth section provides general information on the epizootology of parasitosis, animal resistance and immunity in parasitic diseases, gives characteristics of antiparasitic drugs, describes diagnostic methods. The book is written in accessible language, very well illustrated with diagrams, drawings, black and white and color illustrations. It can be recommended as an additional textbook for students of veterinary universities and faculties, especially those where foreign students study, as well as for a wide range of veterinary doctors, practitioners and researchers.
