The main character of the story, Nadezhda, was born in a provincial town on the Volga into a simple family. Raised in childhood on Soviet moral principles, the girl enters a life that has been “rebuilt.” Nadya’s worldview is “superimposed” on a layer of “values” that are unacceptable to her, which have destroyed and continue to destroy the country. The main character’s conscience, repentance and courage help her remember the “forgotten word,” which not only saves her from hopelessness, but also instills faith in the future – her own and her country’s. The story was included in the short list of the “Golden Knight” - 2017, whose motto is: “For moral ideals, for the elevation of the human soul.”
