A young successful prose writer from Littusovka receives “an offer that is impossible to refuse.” He is invited to write the memoirs of the President of Russia, to act as a literary black - in exchange for huge money, getting into the school curriculum and other goodies. The hero is hampered by his own ideals of freedom and democracy, a deeply ingrained disgust for the “bloody regime,” as well as fear of the party, because if his colleagues find out who he works for, the punishment will be monstrous. And patriotic competitors are not asleep, wanting to get such a job with all the laurels...
